Happy New Year

I am taking a step back from all the reveling that went on in December. WOW!
After gaining 10 lbs, yup, I gained a gigantic 10 lbs in 4 weeks. NEAT
and after eating everything that came in my path it is time to regroup. Don't get me wrong, its not like i don't do this every year, but I was so ready to start being normal and good again.
I think everyone uses this time of year to be excessive because of the "holidays" and it is fun.

Last year was a heavy stressful year and I am glad that it is a new year. I am sure it will still be stressful but I am embracing it this year. I am barreling down for lots of hard work and getting organized.
This year is my goal to be super organized with the store and with home.
I am a slacker sometimes and do things with as little effort as possible but then in other circumstances, I give way more time and attention to things that I shouldn't. i need to find the balance that we are all seeking in our lives.

wish me luck

Denver Business Barons

So, I met with the Denver Business Barons last night.  This a networking group founded by Liz Richards http://www.lizrichardsrealestate.com/about.htm.  While, I’m not usually a person who joins these groups, it was great fun.  I’m a little bit shy around people I don’t know, and I have trouble speaking in public without a martini in my hand.

A few of my customers attend the meetings and always spoke highly of Liz. I met her myself and we had an immediate connection.  She is one of my favorite customers and biggest supporters of Swank.

Liz seems to know just about everyone in Denver. She has boundless energy and personality that makes you feel at ease!  She’s presently developing the Flats 15 real estate project here in the Denver Highlands and it looks like it will be incredible. http://www.lizrichardsrealestate.com/flats/index.html

The meeting gathers a group of independent business entrepreneurs in a comfortable relaxed atmosphere.  Everyone brings something to eat or drink.

This month Martinis and Lemonade (link below) provided the place to meet in their very cool furniture store.  They’re a neighbor in the Weir Building and have the greatest selection unique modern furniture, home decoration, antique wallpaper treatments and Interior Design services

It’s like the house we would all love to have.

The group is divided into individual representatives from each industry and two or three people will talk about their business.  It is a great experience and truly a treat to meet so many ambitious people with a plan and the drive to make their dream come true.

I’m converted.  I really like the people, social interaction and I admire the  energy of people figuring out a business for themselves.   Additionally, I can't say enough good things about Liz, she's bringing business and development to the eastern side of the Highlands neighborhood and making this a better place for us all.
